Mr. Subhash Tyagi, the Chairman and Chief Promoter of Gold Plus Glass Industry Limited, began his inspiring journey in the glass industry in 1985 with just Rs. 5,000. From his humble beginnings as a glass trader, he rose to become the largest glass trader in the country by the early 1990s. His entrepreneurial vision took shape further in 1996 when he set up his first glass processing plant in Sonepat, Haryana. By 2004, Mr. Tyagi had established another unit in Kala Amb, Himachal Pradesh, making Gold Plus the largest glass processor in the architectural segment in India.
Under Mr. Tyagi’s visionary leadership, Gold Plus made a historic mark in 2009 by starting float glass manufacturing in Roorkee, becoming the first and only fully Indian company to do so. This milestone was further amplified in 2018 when the company added a second float line of 700 TPD, securing its position as the second-largest float glass manufacturer in India. Taking the next leap forward, Gold Plus acquired 197 acres of land in the Kanagala Industrial Area in 2021, initiating a significant expansion plan with a capacity of 1,900 TPD and a capex of Rs. 2,400 Crores. The commissioning of its first float line in Kanagala on January 26, 2023, marked another milestone, with the project set for completion by January 2024.
Mr. Tyagi's contributions extend beyond business operations. He was the founder director of the Federation of Safety Glass and has served as a director of the All India Glass Manufacturers Federation, where he also chaired the Architectural Glass Panel. A staunch advocate of corporate governance, environmental sustainability, and social welfare, Mr. Tyagi has embedded these values into the core of Gold Plus. His dedication to sustainability and CSR initiatives continues to guide the company toward meaningful progress and responsible growth, making a significant impact in the industry and society.
